Key requirements
- Be 35 or under when you apply (under 50 for Masters by research or PhD graduates, and Hong Kong or BNO passport holders)
- Have held a Student visa in the last 6 months
- Have completed an eligible qualification from a CRICOS-registered course in the 6 months before you apply
- Meet the Australian study requirement
- Meet the English language requirement
- Choose the right stream — you can't change streams after you apply
Streams
Post-Vocational Education Work streamFor associate degree, diploma or trade graduates in an occupation Australia needs. Stay up to 18 months.
Post-Higher Education Work streamFor degree graduates. Bachelor or Masters (coursework): 2 years. Masters (research) or Doctorate: 3 years.
Second Post-Higher Education Work streamFor graduates who lived, worked or studied in a regional area on their first post-study visa.
Six-month windowYou must apply within 6 months of completing your qualification. Missing it can close this pathway — plan early.
