What this visa lets you do
- Ask the Tribunal to review many refusal and cancellation decisions made by the Department of Home Affairs
- Seek review of some nomination and sponsorship decisions
- Present your case through an informal process
Key requirements
- Check your decision letter — it tells you whether the decision can be reviewed, who can apply, and the time limit
- Apply within the time limit — the Tribunal has no power to extend it
- Pay the application fee (some decisions have no fee; reductions may be available)
What can't be reviewed
The Tribunal can't review a visa cancellation made personally by the Minister, or a decision where you aren't entitled to apply for review. Some decisions — such as protection and character-related decisions — follow different rules.
